#100DAYS |
JANUARY 20, 2017 - APRIL 29, 2017
|
In 2019, I permanently closed my Instagram account after watching Mark Zuckerberg's testimony to US Congress in October 2019 on Facebook's cryptocurrency and banking products. I fully believe Zuckerberg is either an outright fascist or he is perfectly ok with fascists. Either way, his statements to US Congress are damning of the entire social media and technology industry.
As a white queer who understands the body politic, I have a responsibility to disrupt fascism wherever I can. #100Days started as a way for me to clarify and articulate my values, dreams, and beliefs, which in itself is an anti-fascist act.
While I still have the original images (they no longer exist within social media except on some Facebook server somewhere),
this blank page acts a reminder of what is lost due to fascism.

ART WORKS | Instagram | Virtual USA
As the Drumpf administration begins to enact its ambitious plan for their first 100 days, artist Jason Wyman will draw a selfie and more concretely name their beliefs and values. The color palette for each is drawn from photos in articles about national, state, or local politics.
